There are several methods for evaluating a person’s personality, including self-evaluation, others’ evaluation and professional evaluation. It is said that self-evaluation and others’ evaluation do not agree well with each other, and the correlation was about 0.3 in previous studies. In this study, we analyzed not only the self-evaluation and others’ evaluation, but also professional evaluation, and to examine if there were any principles among the points of agreement and differences of the three types of evaluations. In this study, three groups of subjects were assessed: general students, laboratory-affiliated students, and members of Sentence Completion Test Follow-up Workshop. The results showed that the correlation between self-evaluation and others' evaluation showed “general students < laboratory-affiliated students < workshop members”, the correlation between self-evaluation and professional evaluation showed “laboratory-affiliated students < workshop members”, and the correlation between others' evaluation and professional evaluation showed “laboratory-affiliated students < workshop members”. It is possible that factors such as knowledge of personality, mutual familiarity and self-deprecation may affect assessment of personality.
