抄録	研究成果の概要 (和文) : 本研究では、日本とロシアにおける民間地図出版史をおさえ、それらの刊行地図やアトラス類において描かれたフロンティア像を明らかにすることを目的とした。その際、地図の出版は、それぞれの首都において行われたことを踏まえ、フロンティアだけでなく、ロシア帝国と近代日本の都市表象の在り方についても考察を広げた。特に江戸から明治東京における都市図の作成や出版状況を把握し、19世紀日本の地域像構築は、フロンティアおよび中央の両方において、近代的な測量図だけでなく、鳥瞰図や景観画などの絵画表現も重要であることが明らかになった。
	研究成果の概要 (英文) : The purpose of this study is to examine the history of private map publishing in Japan and Russia, and to clarify the frontier images drawn on those maps and atlases. At that time, based on the fact that the map was published in each capital, we expanded our consideration not only to the frontier but also to the ideal urban representation of Imperial Russia and modern Japan. In particular, grasping the creation and publication status of city maps from Edo to Meiji Tokyo, it is important not only modern maps but also pictorial expressions such as bird's-eye views and landscape drawings in both the frontier and central areas to build a regional image of 19th century Japan.
