抄録	研究成果の概要 (和文) : 本研究の成果として、コンピュータを利用した高変動音素訓練（HVPT: High Variability Phonetic Training）を活用することで日本人英語話者が発音を苦手とする音素は知覚段階で問題があることがわかった。また、HVPTプログラムを活用して知覚訓練をした結果、知覚とともに調音にも一定の効果が見られた。更に調音を伸ばすために、刺激音の復唱を随伴条件や、調音方法の視覚的提供、教材でのインプット強化により、調音の更なる向上が認められた。発音指導において知覚訓練の重要性を示す結果といえる。
抄録	研究成果の概要 (英文) : The goal of the study was to find out an effective method to improve comprehensibility in pronunciation produced by Japanese learners of English. The use of HVPT computer program revealed the facts that they are likely to have perceptional problems of certain phonemes before producing them intelligibly. By using the HVPT program, perception of the problematic phonemes improved significantly, followed by improvement of production to some extent. To boost the progress of production, additional intervention during HVPT indicated more potentials, such as repeating aloud the stimuli sounds during HVPT program and providing them with opportunities to see articulation with a visual aid. Overall, the study implied the importance of putting priority to perception for pronunciation education.
