The activity of the ‘peer advisors’ (PA) in academic consultations is one form of the ‘peer supports’. In preceding researches, characteristics and personal growth of the ones who provided peer supports were observed. The purpose of this article was to consider the purposes of the PA leader from the interviews with PA leaders in the academic consultations of the Career Design Faculty of Hosei University. As a result, the followings were revealed. In experiences of being PA leaders, the inspirations and influences they received from superior PA leaders and colleagues were considerable and they made them grow as persons. In the academic consultations, both the supporters and supported have clear purposes, and the reactions of each other are recognizable, which is not the case in other peer supports. Moreover, PA leaders are aware of the importance of the awareness of career counseling and skills for it such as listening ability. Such as this, it was revealed that PA leaders were, as nucleus in the academic consultations, creating relationships that PA leaders, PAs and freshmen were influencing one another.
