抄録	研究成果の概要 (和文) : 日本企業の財務報告で用いられるグラフについて、その利用実態を分析し、グラフ化する財務項目、グラフ化の方法、歪曲表示の有無、およびグラフの利用と業績との関係性を明らかにした。また、グラフの読み手に与える視覚効果についても分析した。分析の結果、グラフ化する財務項目は売上高、営業利益、EPSをはじめとする主要指標であり、海外の先行研究の結果と同様の傾向がみられた。一方、グラフの歪曲性については、海外の先行研究の結果とは異なり、日本企業のグラフは歪曲性が低く、比較的正確に作成されていた。ただし、読み手への視覚効果は一貫した傾向は確認できなかった。
抄録	研究成果の概要 (英文) : I have studied the issue of impression management using graphs in financial reporting practices in a comparative international context. The survey was to assess the type and frequency of graphics presented in annual reports; to identify the location of the graphics within annual reports; to measure the Graph Discrepancy Index; and to summarize the nature of information in graphics. As a result of the analysis, the financial items which became graphs were sales amount, operating income , EPS, which was a tendency like the result of the overseas prior research. On the other hand, distortion characteristics were low, and the graphs of the Japanese firms were made relatively exactly, which was unlike the result of the overseas prior research. However, the visual effects to graph readers were not confirmed.
